Biography
Vasilis Korakakis is a virtuoso musician and performer of the contemporary Greek music scene, with active family roots in rebetiko and laïko traditions. With the bouzouki as his steady artistic axis, he moves creatively between traditional laïko and modern Greek songwriting, cultivating a distinctive personal style and clear artistic identity.
He has collaborated with significant composers and performers of Greek music, including Stelios Vamvakaris, Vangelis Korakakis, Christos Leontis, Giorgos Dalaras, Thanasis Papakonstantinou, and Giota Negka, among others.
In December 2018, he released his first full-length album, Apo Michanis… Tragoudia (“Deus Ex Machina… Songs”), for which he wrote the lyrics, composed the music, and performed the songs himself. From this album, the song Mia Alliotiki Zoi (“A Different Life”) stood out.
In September 2025, he participated in the record project Allaniarika Sfyrizo (“I Whistle Like a Wanderer”), where he was responsible for the orchestration and interpretation of the songs.
